Free Vehicle Check-up to be Offered Nationwide (Ezine Ready)

April is fast approaching and while some people think about the month as the time to file their income tax returns, the auto industry celebrates the month as the National Car Care Month.

In connection with the forthcoming observance of the said event, the Car Care Council announced that a huge number of automotive repair shops, parts stores, distributors, and vocational schools all over the U.S. will offer free check-up events and car care educational campaign for motorists. The Car Care Council is the organization in charge of the celebration of the National Car Care Month.

Rich White, the Executive Director of the Car Care Council, has this to say about the forthcoming events: “It's up to the sponsors to decide what to offer, and many events end up being enjoyable for the whole family. Consumers get an important understanding about the condition of their vehicle so they can avoid costly repairs down the road. In the process, everyone has fun, including the sponsors of the events.”

At these events, automotive mechanics will be checking different parts of an automobile. Every system will be checked in order to ensure that the cars going to the event will be taken care of. Among the systems that will be checked during the events are the vehicle’s lubricants and fluids, windshield wipers, belts, hoses, radiators, battery, tires, lights, and other components.

Other activities that have been conducted in the past and may be included in this year’s observance of the Car Care Month are child safety seats inspections, blood pressure screenings, kid’s activities, car wash, and even the chance to get some auto-related reading materials. It is also up to organizers whether they will check the exterior aspects of cars, like checking the paint condition on a Honda fender.

Last year, the participating business establishments and organizations reported that they have combined to check almost 1,000 vehicles. The event was observed on 16 states and this year looks to be even bigger as shown in the reports that many sponsors are already on the final stage of planning process on how to host the said events on their turf. These sponsors will be posting the schedule for free checkups at the Car Care Council Web site. In connection with this, the council advises motorists to visit their website in order to learn which repair facility near them will be offering free checkups next month. That way, if they are interested, they could get to learn just what is wrong with their vehicles without having to shell out that much needed cash.

Last year, the Car Care Council reported that nine out of ten vehicles inspected have at least one defective component. The observance of the car care month is a big help to car owners who want to know which components of their cars need replacement or repairs.
